It's time for another new FIFTH WEEK challenge at House of Cards!  This week it is a photo inspiration for you this week and we cannot wait to see what you've got in store for us!  Since our entire DT will be creating for this one.  That also means this post is gonna be a bit photo heavy.  THIS IS A ONE WEEK CHALLENGE...please make sure to get your entries in before next Sunday at noon CST! :)
Challenge is Any Style with this Photo Inspiration!

Here is my Classic & Elegant card for the challenge.

I used my Feburary 2014 Apron Strings All Year Cheer Card Kit for this one.  I was inspired by the striped pillows and the floral chair pillows.  Stamps are from Just Rite Stamps.

Club Scrap Trees BlogHop

Welcome!
Trees - March Club Scrap Blog Hop

If you came here from AnnetteD's Blog you are in the right place!

Trees is the theme for this month's Club Scrap/Stamp Kit.  I am excited to be part of this bloghop for my first time.  I subscribe to the Club Stamp Kit and the Club Scrap Digital Kit.  Here is what I got in my Club Stamp Kit.
Club Stamp Trees Kit
I also got the Art Nouveau Stamps and the Borders and Background Stamps with my kit.  (Click on the photos to be taken to the Club Scrap Website for more information on these kits)

Club Scrap Trees Digital Kit

For the digital kits I use the Panstoria Artisan Software to make my digital pages.  I have been working on scrapbook pages of my family's summer cabin in the historic mining town of Alma, Colorado.  I found this photo of my grandparent's car heading up the road outside the cabin in Autumn.  I love the vintage car and the beautiful aspen leaves.  The trees kit really highlighted this photo and I love the overlays in the kit that make my photo look more vintage.

Then I used my Club Stamp kit to make some cards for Operation Write Home.  I loved the "Stand Tall" sentiment in the Borders and Backgrounds stamps.  I can see a Dad sending a card like this to his son.  I like how the designer print has a circle that looks like a cloudy moon.

I used the Operation Write Home Sketch #156.  I stamped the tree on the light green cardstock with Ranger Archival ink in Fern Green and then cut it out.  I edged the print papers in Tim Holtz Forest Moss Distress ink.   I used three Stampin'Up Regal Designer Dots because they are nice and flat (a requirement for Operation Write Home cards -- no lumpy embellishments).

The next stop on the blog hop is Wendy Bellino.  If you got here some other way and want to see the complete list of participants go to the Club Scrap Blog - Club Scrap Creates.

I used the Club Scrap March 2013 Bookshelves DP and Cardstock.  The Camera Stamp and Sentiment are from the Club Scrap "Get the Picture" set.  Ink is Tim Holtz Distressed Vintage Photo and Antique Linen.

This One's For Mom

Good Morning!  The Challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge Blog for March is to "Add A Button." So this two weeks of the month is for Clean & Simple Cards (CAS) or Classic & Elegant cards with a button on them.  Hop on over and play along with us.  Here is my DT card for the challenge.

I got carried away with the button theme and went with a whole sewing theme on this one.  I have decided this will be my Mother's Day card to my Mom.  She loves to sew and quilt but with Macular Degeneration she can no longer do so.  I might have gone a little bit vintage on this card versus Classic & Elegant .
I love how I thought of having the scissors cut the edge of the paper.  Here's a close-up of that.

The DP is Authentique Original 6x6 pad.  The bodice stamp is Tim Holtz  Stamper's Anonymous Sew Exceptional.  Scissors, button and thread spool are from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Sewing Edge.  Scissors and button are cut from Ranger mirror foil.  I topped the scissors with dot of  silver Perfect Pearl  for the screw.  Sentiment stamp is from Great Impressions Stamps.  Inks used are Distressed Inks Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Vintage Photo.  Flower is made from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Floral Die.  Jute and lace are from my stash.

Hope you come and play with us at the House of Cards Challenge Blog.

I am also entering this in the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #4 - Show Some Sparkle,Glitz, or Glam (what's more sparkly or shinier than that Ranger foil?)

Two-fer Challenges

I managed to squeeze two challenges into one card today.  The Operation Write Home Sketch #216 and the Words 2 Scrap By Challenge #3:  And the Oscars go to. . .  The Words 2 Scrap By Challenge had four quotes from famous movies to choose from.  I chose "The stuff that dreams are made of."  (The Maltese Falcon, 1941).

I used a retired Stampin'Up! set called Dreams du jour.   All ink and paper are Stampin'Up!
Here is the OWH Sketch I used.
216

The Words 2 Scrap By Challenge ends on 21 March and there is a nice prize for the winner of the challenge.  The OWH Sketch is open for posting anytime.
