It's Official!

It's official!  I made the Inspired by Stamping design team.  What a thrill!  I love the beautiful stamps that Joanna Munster creates.  Here once more is the card that got me in with my new watermark on it for the DT.

On the right side of my blog under the IBS blinkie is the rest of the design team.  Take a few minutes to check out these talented ladies blogs and the IBS blog.

OWH August Our Daily Bread Design Challenge

I was shocked to see that Operation Write Home does not have 50 cards posted for its monthly Our Daily Bread Design (ODBD) challenge.  If 50 cards are posted ODBD pays for two boxes of cards to be shipped overseas.  Shipping costs are very expensive so we need to get to 50 cards.  Plus you have an opportunity to win a gift certificate for Our Daily Bread Design stamps.  The challenge for August is to include STARS on your card.  I made a card to write to one of our heroes.

Hobby Lobby had IROTOGEN colored pencils marked down in their clearance section.  I picked up some and colored this flag from The Rubber Cafe.  I stamped some old sentiments I have from Cloud 9 and KAndrews.  I'll write a nice message inside for one of our heroes.  If you have time in the next few days please make a card and post it to the challenge HERE.

Club Scrap Cinema Bloghop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Cinema Blog Hop.  If you got here from Annette's Page you are in the right place.  If you got here some other way and would like to go back to the beginning of the blog hop go to the Club Scrap Blog here. I subscribe to the Club Stamp Digital Kit, the Art Nouveau StampClub Stamp Kit,  Unmounted Borders and Backgrounds Stamp, Club Scrap Unmounted Stamp and the Embellishment Pack.

The digital kits come at the first of the month so I played with my digital kit first. I was sad to see that Lauren Bacall had died.  I always thought she was the most beautiful movie star.  I did a little tribute page for her with my Cinema Digital Kit.  It was perfect for the vintage movie star look!

When my Club Stamp kit came on the 20th of the month I created this Birthday card.  There's so many ways to use this kit.  Movie night invitations, Movie gift cards for a thank you card!  I missed my nephew's birthday so I created this movie gift card holder for him.

Here's the front of the card closed.

Pull up the "clapper" and the gift card is exposed.

On the inside I added the cute popcorn stamp and well wishes in the Verve font.

Thanks for joining us on the hop!  Next up is Wendy Bellino.   If you want to go back to the beginning of the blog hop go to the Club Scrap Creates blog here.

Inspired By Stamping Design Team Application

One of my favorite stamp companies "Inspired By Stamping," recently had a design team call.  I found out at the last minute and quickly threw together a card based on this inspiration photo.  We were leaving on vacation the next day so it had to be a quick card.

Here is my entry for the Design Team.

News coming soon about the DT Call!

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Bonus Day

The Bonus Day at Stretch Your Stamps 2 Online Card Classes was all about "Color Me" Stamps.  They showed some cute ways to use these stamps besides coloring them.  I used the "Paper Piecing" method for my card but there were some cute watercolor ideas also.

The bird and sentiment is part of a Hero Arts Operation Write Home fundraising stamp set.  It has very cute puns with an owl, a sheep, a squirrel, and a moose.  I used a Memory Box "Bare Sapling" die for the branch and Puffy Cloud die for the vellum.  DP is October Afternoon.
I'm a little behind in class now, will try to catch up before we head out to Blue Mesa Reservoir for some camping!

House of Cards August Classic & Elegant

It's another challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge Blog and it is the Classic & Elegant team's turn to post.  This month our challenge is a sketch.

Here is my inspiration for the sketch.

I wasn't happy with the harsh lines in the sketch and wanted to find a way to soften them into something a little more elegant.  The punched circles from Basic Grey Fresh Cut DP helped a lot.  I used the Stampin'Up!  Beautiful Baroque EF and the Lovely Romance stamp to further soften the lines of the sketch.  Come join us and link your inspiration of the sketch HERE.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day 5 and 6

Day 5 and 6 at  Online Card Classes was about stretching outline stamps.  The stamps used were floral stamps (not my favorite).  I CASEd Jennifer Rasa's card where she debossed her image and then stamped and watercolored it.  I was trying to do an easier way than she did by using Stampin'Up!'s Backyard Basics that come with dies to cut out the images.  If I had it to do over again I would stamp first and then emboss with the die.  It was hard to stamp perfectly in the embossed image.

Stampin'Up! Backyard Basics. Picked Raspberry and Evergreen Bough Distress Markers on Stampin'Up! watercolor paper.  Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Close to My Heart A Flowering Bunch sentiment heat embossed with Zing White EP.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day 3 and 4

Days 3 and 4 of the Online Card Classes was about stretching your alphabet and sentiment stamps.  Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn Stamps made a cute card with an umbrella.  I CASE'd it using Stampin'Up! Life's Adventure stamp (Hostess gift) and an alphabet Studio G by Hampton Art Stamp Set I picked up at Michael's in the bargain bin.

The fox is clear heat embossed and colored with Derwent Inktense Pencils.  I used Stampin'Up! Soft Sky and Blushing Bride ink and Stampin'Up! cardstock.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day 1 and 2

I am taking the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2.  Day 1 and 2 are about background stamps.  There are some amazing techniques demonstrated.  This is an ombre background shown in day 2 of the class.

I used Paper Smooches Hip to be Square background stamp and Blissful Banners.  I used Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Tumbled glass Distress Ink for the ombre effect.  Twine and sequins from my stash.  I'll be back tomorrow with a Perfect Pearls card.
