Club Scrap London Calling Blog Hop

Good morning my bloggy friends!  Welcome to the Club Scrap London Calling bloghop.
If you arrived here from the Club Scrap Blog you are in the right place.  If you arrived here from somewhere else and would like to start at the beginning of the bloghop, go HERE to the Club Scrap blog

I normally subscribe to the Club Scrap Digital Kit, the Art Nouveau StampClub Stamp Kit,  Unmounted Borders and Backgrounds Stamp, and the Embellishment Pack.

I get my digital kit on the first day of the month.  Here's a page I did with one of the Quick Drop Digital Layouts (QDDLs).  It just so happened I have photos from my trip to Europe in the summer of 1972 that had never been scrapbooked!  Here's my visit to the Tower of London. I had to scan my photos and touch them up as they were fading badly.  I used Panstoria's Historian program to edit them.

I have so few pictures of that trip compared to how many pictures I would take now with my digital camera.  When we were using film we took pictures sparingly.  I did keep a journal during that summer so the memories are still there in my writings and the pictures are in my mind.

When my Club Stamp kit came I had fun creating this card.

The bowler hat and mustache were just too cute.  The Union Jack print ribbon really brightened it up!

And then I made this card.

Newsprint Pansy

Today I tried a little different technique.  It's called newsprint stamping.  The results give your card a vintage look.  I used an old paperback book that was falling apart.  I stamped the Flower of the Month Pansy onto the page.  The pages are thin like newsprint.  You could also use your local newspaper for some interesting backgrounds. (Crossword puzzel anyone?)   I colored my pansies with Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils.

When gluing your newsprint down use Beacon 3 in 1 glue.  It dries clear.  Other glues might soak through the newsprint and ruin your stamping.  Hope you give this a try. Be sure to post it in our customer gallery.

Inspired by Stamping 3D Project

Today I am over on the Inspired by Stamping Blog with a 3D Project.  This project could be for a woman or a man.  It is a Screen Divider Card.  I though it would be pefect to showcase our Australian Birds.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel, Australian Birds, 3D Project.
It makes a beautiful display piece!  I love how all the birds face to the center!

Here it is flat so you can see the details of the birds a little better.

The tutorial is over at Splitcoast Stampers with all the measurements.  The best part is that this folds up and can be mailed in an A2 envelope!

CASE-ing Christmas Challenge #8

Today at CASE-ing Christmas we are CASE-ing Design Team member Cohenna.

Here's my card for the CASE.

I stayed with the car design but switched out the colors and the theme.  It's fun to do non-traditional Christmas Colors such as pink and blue.  The image is from Cricut Celebrate with a Flourish.  I cut it out of blue, pink, silver and white shimmer cardstock.  The sentiment on the tag is Hero Arts.

Come on over to CASE-ing Christmas and play with us!

Inspired by Stamping Valentine

Today I am over on the Inspired by Stamping blog with a Valentine.  As I was digging through some of my embellishments I came across this tall skinny card, a cute envelope, and some blank tickets.  Here's what I put together.

When the envelope is opened some cute tickets come out!

Here's the cute tickets out of the envelope.
I used masking to stamp the big tickets in two colors (red & black).
You could write a special message on the back of each ticket.
This card will be going to my daughter for Valentine's Day.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel, Vintage Tickets, Teeny Tiny Greetings, Flower of the Month: Sweet Pea, Valentine's Card.

I used several different stamp sets to make this card.  The large tickets are from the Vintage Tickets.
The tan tickets are stamped on with sentiments from Teeny Tiny Greetings as well as the tiny hearts.
The Red & White ticket is stamped on with a sentiment from the Flower of the Month: Sweet Pea.
The "Sweetie" on the front of the card is from the new Big Hello  (the FREE stamp of the month).

Inspired By Stamping Inpsiration

Here is some inspiration for you using the Inspired by Stamping free (with the newsletter) Valentine's Day Wreath digital stamp.  I just love this beautiful floral heart.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel, Newsletter Valentin'e Day Wreath Digital Stamp, All Year Wishes, Love Card
I opened up the file in Microsoft Word and sized it for my card.  I printed it on vellum and then cut the vellum with a heart shaped die.  I had to offset the die a little to get all the pretty stamp in it!  I then colored the back of the vellum with markers and stamped the sentiment from All Year Wishes I (on sale now) on the front.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Two More Layout A Day Pages

Here's two more scrapbook pages done for Layout A Day.  This time I took some old slides that my Dad had taken of Hubby's Special Forces Water Jump.  I had converted them to digital files several years ago and wanted to get them scrapbooked for the Sergeant Major (yes, that is my husband's retired rank).

All his Special Forces buddies will get a kick out of seeing some of these old photos.  Yes, that is the Sergeant Major in his leopard print swim trunks.  Stunning aren't they?  My daughter died laughing when she saw photos of him in these swim trunks.  Styles do change (thank goodness)!

Layout a Day (LOAD)

I signed up again to do a Layout A Day (LOAD) with Lain Ehmann.  The prompts are really leading me to some interesting pages.  Here are the first two I did.

Crafty Colonel, Donna Nuce, For Layout A Day 215
The first prompt was about children's books.  This was one book I loved to read to my daughter.  It makes me cry everytime I read it - because the young man grows up and hold his aging mother in his arms and sings this back to her.  Kleenex alert!

Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce, For Layout A Day 215, Club Scrap Constellation,
The prompt for this one was about the "Goodnight Moon" book.  It sent me off in a direction of stargazing.  When our family camps in August we always take advantage of the "dark skies" of our camping area to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Show.
