Club Scrap The Blues Bloghop

Welcome to the Club Scrap The Blues bloghop.
If you arrived here from Tricia's blog you are in the right place.  If you arrived here from somewhere else and would like to start at the beginning of the bloghop, go HERE to the Club Scrap blog

I get my digital kit on the first day of the month.  When I saw the sentiment in the kit that said "Why yes, I do frequently burst out in song," my father immediately came to mind.  Here is a tribute page I did for him when he was a member of the "Sunshine Serenaders."  They went to nursing homes and performed songs for the elderly.  One song they always sang was The 3 Caballeros (Check out this link to hear and see the song performed by Donald Duck and Friends).    I used a blueprint from Pixels2Pages to start my page out.

My Dad said that many times after a performance, a nurse or aide would tell them that people who normally did not respond to anything would perk up and sing along with certain songs.  That's why I love the quote "Music can change the world."  It has and always will speak to our souls.

Here's some cards made with the Club Scrap Stamp Kit that ships on the 20th of the month

I like how the stamps can be used as smaller designs or left together as a larger design. I used Chipped Sapphire Distressed ink.  For the musical background I stamped it with Craft White ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I can see using this stamp set for some nice notecards for a music teacher end of school year gift.

Sadly Operation Write Home will be closing down on 1 August and I will need to find another outlet for my numerous cards I love to make.  You can find out more about the Operation Write Home Finish Strong Campaign HERE.

Next on the list is Deb of Deb Duz Scrappin.
If you would like to start at the beginning of the blog hop head on over to the

OWH Finishing Strong Bloghop

“Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year. All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I’m helping to get the word out!”

I am posting my card using  OWH Sketch #254 .  You can check out all the OWH Card Sketches HERE.

I will miss making cards for our troops for OWH.  I am sure there are other places that can use my cards.
I will be researching and looking for new opportunities to craft for a cause!

Sunday Inspiration

Yesterday was my Son-in-Law's Birthday.  We are taking him and my daughter out to dinner tonight and here is the card that I made for him.

I went with the larger 5x7 format since the Tim Holtz Picture Wheel die cut is very large.  DP is older Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections.  Clock stamp is Time by Stampington & Co.  I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest.

Hope your Sunday is a blessed one!

CASEing Christmas - Anita

It's time for another challenge at CASE-ing Christmas.  This week we are CASE-ing Anita.  Here's my card.

Here's Anita's card we are CASE-ing.

I love her triple time stamping she used.  I was also inspired by this pin on Pinterest.  I went with the sparkly theme by adding glitter embossing powder to the sentiment and metallic embossing powder on the stamping.  I hope you join us at CASE-ing Christmas for some fun triple time stamping this week.

Sunday Inspiration Mother's Day

Last week was my last time on the Inspired by Stamping Design Team.  Due to family commitments I had to scale back some with my crafting.  I liked doing the Sunday inspiration posts so I will try to continue to commit to a card every Sunday to inspire you!  Today I am showing a card I made for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day.  I would have liked to show you the card I made for my Mom but I gave it to her yesterday at the Mother-Daughter tea at her Independent Living Facility.  I might have to take my camera over there this week and get a picture of it so I can show it later.  Anyway, here's my MIL's card.

I CASEd this pin from Pinterest because I love this SU DP (retired) and wanted to use it for the card.  Since the rose was so 3D I decided to box the card in a clear card box and make a tie and a tag with her name on it.

So if you're a Mom to children, or fur babies, Happy Mother's Day!
Hope your Sunday is blessed!

Inspired By Stamping Tea Tin

Good morning!  Today I am over on the Inspired By Stamping blog with a sweet recycled tea tin.  When I finished up the tea in this tin I was able to get the label off and I thought it would be a great opportunity to dress it up for a gift.  Here's a look at what I did.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce, Flowers Bloom Stamp Set, Altered Tea Tin

I had to paper piece to wrap all the way around the tin

I love the decorative ribbon and the roses on top.

It always feels good to recycle something in a positive way rather than just dumping it in the recycle bin.  I love hearing ideas of other items you have recycled.

Inspired By Stamping Sunday Inspiration

Happy Sunday!  Here's some inspiration for you using the Inspired By Stamping Butterflies Set.
Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce, Butterflies Stamp Set, Watercolor Card
I love the happy accidents that you can get with watercolor.  I colored the butterfly with distressed markers and a water brush.  Then I spritzed the paper and let the accidents happen!
Hope your Sunday is a blessed one!

House of Cards May Bokeh Challenge

It's time for a new challenge over on the House of Cards Challenge Blog.  This month our challenge is all about bokeh.

There are several You Tube videos that demonstrate this technique.  I took my inspiration from this PIN on Pinterest and came up with this card.

I love how the gold on the black cardstock is so elegant.  Here's a close up of the bokeh.

Stamps and dies are from Just Rite.
Come join us over at the House of Cards for a fun month of bokeh!

CASEing Christmas

It's time for a new challenge over on the CASE-ing Christmas blog.  This week we are CASE-ing the uber-talented Mynn.  Here's the card we are CASE-ing.

Here's my CASE of Mynn's card.

It's hard to see that the DP has lots of sparkle and I added sparkle to the snowflakes on the bear stamp.  The large stamp is Close to My Heart.   So come on over to CASE-ing Christmas and show us your CASE!
